Berlanga me parece indispensable en la historia de nuestro cine, podría haber puesto cualquier película suya pero “El verdugo†me Impresionó cuando la vi. La secuencia en las cuevas cuando requieren al protagonista para su primera ejecución me parece impresionante. No hay mejor manera de contar algo tan duro como la pena de muerte que con el humor con que lo hace Berlanga.
BLADE RUNNER (Ridley Scott, 1982)
La atmósfera, la luz, el guión, la interpretación. Todo hace que una historia de ciencia ficción, tan aparentemente lejana te llegue al corazón y te sobrecoja, y además ha ido ganando con el tiempo.
AMARCORD (Federico Fellini, 1974)
Fellini me parece un genio, como con Berlanga podría haber puesto otras muchas suyas. Me encanta su mundo, su punto de vista y la manera en que cuenta sus historias y cómo hace que permanezcan en tu memoria.
LA VIDA ES BELLA (La vita è bella, Roberto Benigni, 1997)
Porque me llegó al corazón, porque me emocionó y porque hay que ser muy listo para hacerte reír dentro de tanta tristeza.
EL PADRINO I, II Y III (The Godfather, Francis Ford Coppola, 1972 y 1974, 1990)
No es que quiera hacer trampa y decir tres películas en lugar de una, es que para mí es sólo una película, una saga, una historia. Contada de la mejor manera que se puede hacer y rodada como dios. No hay palabras.
