Vacaciones de ferragosto, ¿qué hacemos con las abuelas?

¿En qué radica el éxito de Vacaciones de ferragosto? En su asumida pequeñez, en que no aparenta lo que no es y en que, a pesar de su condición de corto alargado, mantiene el interés por una situación única que es tan cómica como inquietante, retomando así una tradición, la de la comedia popular italiana, mucho más rica de lo que parece a simple vista.
Lo que me atrae de Vacaciones de ferragosto no es tanto la ligereza de la propuesta, que incide en el carácter canalla de los italianos y en la preponderancia del icono de la ‘mamma’, sino lo claustrofóbico de la situación, en la que un sesentón en paro debe cuidar a cuatro abuelas en plena canícula.
Algo hay de El ángel exterminador en esta película menor, muestra ideal de lo que sería el “yo me lo guiso, yo me lo como” (está dirigida, escrita e interpretada por Gianni di Gregorio), con el excepcional mecenazgo de Mateo Garrone, director de Gomorra. La situación es un encierro in extremis, un callejón sin salida decorado con el humor blanco que surge de la interpretación, tan veraz como naturalista de las cuatro abuelas, que Di Gregorio reclutó en diversas residencias de ancianos.
Es una comedia de costumbres con su propio lado oscuro. Eso sí, quizás la situación es demasiado breve, tiene poca entidad dramática para sustentar un largometraje. Menos mal que Gianni Di Gregorio era consciente de ello: el film dura una hora y cuarto, y de verdad no podría haber durado más.

LLevarlas con vosotros. Os importan mucho, eso ha quedado patente a lo largo de la historia y a través de cualquiera DE SUS PROTAGONISTAS. No mirais por vuestros intereses, mirais por los de ella. Haced una peli sobre eso. Sobre las abuelas, vuestro trato hacia ellas y como siempre habeis antepuesto su felicidad a la vuestra. Que no falte ninguno, pero reflejad la realidad.

Realmente es una excelente actuación y una memorable peli…
Y más alla de reflejar ciertas actitudes de capote el tema central no es ese sino la pena capital.
pelicula rara por su modo de narracion y el blanco y negro alimenta esa sensacion. A mi no me gusto por el final(absurdo) y la pelicula en si, que es un sinsentido
Excelente película. Tiene gran dirección, ambientación, argumento y sobre todo, la actuación de Seymour. Realmente es para no morir antes de verla.
